I was always looking for a good tutorial for cutting out hair, so glad you made this and explained it so easily! Thanks!

  2. Gábor Kiss says:

I miss the old intro part that :” And grow as a designer” lol.

Anyway, I love your videos Dansky, keep going, and making nice videos.

  3. Anders Kiilerich says:

Great video mate! I would like to see you do this on a non unicolour background, as I always have trouble with that. Again great toturial 😉

  4. Kishen Biekhram says:

Easy with a white background. The work is already 90% done if you have a white background.
The cut out will be peanuts then. But this is a good tutorial to explain some basic stuff

    • Heart & Soul Concerts says:

We think that this was more about refining the the mask to offer a resolution to the problem of those fine hairs that basic masking dose not easily fix. But, we have seen several great way to skin a cat. This just happens to be one of them.

  5. Ryan Francis Fernandez says:

The easiest and well-instructed how-to video ever! Thank you for this!

  7. Urroz Ricardo says:

I agree with one comment below. Doing a cut out from an almost pure white background it´s one of the easiest thing to do, and more with that deep black hair. Bad example, sorry.

    • Bobby's Worlds says:

I was just coming to troll every one of these tutorials for that reason. Show me a hard photo to cut out. They need to explain you need the right picture to make the the selection perfect.

    • corrio zac says:

And it’s not fast. For white background select and mask or refine edge is much faster.

    • FranSlam says:

You need to type in specifics for that kind of tutorial. Specifically videos that target cutting out hair from busy backgrounds.

    • PrinceFcknCharming says:

      And still looks like crap.

    • DizzeeSpellz says:

Great! I always have trouble to cut out hair, this seemed an easy way to do a more accurate selection, though the white background made it easier too. Thanks for sharing!

When you were in Image/Adjustment/Levels, you were able to move the image while zoomed in, how did you do that?

  13. GBatB says:

Really good tutorial! Do you have one for cutting out where there’s a busy background?

  14. Trevor Gask says:

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Explanations, while quick, were clear and one can always rewind! I’m going to try it! Thanks again.

  16. Tracer Playground says:

THANK YOU! Seriously, thank you! Ive been trying to use the refine edge tool but it never works for me. Even against an all opposite color background. I always had fragments left over that i had to cut out. This here…one shot and bam perfect hair! Thank you so much!
